CovPass Check: A Quick and Data-Sparsam Way to Verify Your EU COVID Certificate
The CovPass Check app is a free application developed by the Robert Koch-Institut (RKI) for the German Federal Government. It allows for fast and data-sparsam verification of the EU digital COVID certificates. With just a few clicks, users can determine if the person being checked has a valid certificate. The app is available for iPhone and can be used offline.
The app's central function is to verify the COVID immunization status, recovery from COVID infection, or negative COVID test results. When users check the EU digital COVID certificate, only the necessary information and data are displayed in the CovPass Check app. The QR code serves as proof of full immunization or recovery from COVID and indicates the certificate's status. In addition, the name and birth date of the person being checked are displayed for identification purposes.
For negative test results, the QR code shows the test date and time. However, it's worth noting that the test result QR codes currently issued are not EU digital COVID certificates. These QR codes can only be converted into EU digital COVID certificates through the Corona-Warn-App. Only the EU digital COVID certificates can be verified by the CovPass Check app.
